Kilimanjaro Airport, Tanzania
Arrive to Kilimanjaro International airport in Tanzania. Barking Zebra staff will greet you at the airport and escort you to tonight’s lodge nearby Arusha.
Enjoy the rest. Your safari adventure starts tomorrow!
Tarangire National Park
You’ll be transported from the bustling town of Arusha to Tarangire National Park – a gem of a location known for its diversity of wildlife and often referred to as “The Little Serengeti.” Tarangire’s wonderfully varied landscape of rolling hills and golden savannah, generously dotted with acacias and baobabs, is home to diverse birdlife, large cats and massive elephant herds. Herds as large as 150 elephants are considered a usual sighting.
We stay for two nights at a permanent tented lodge located inside the Tarangire National Park.
Lake Manyara National Park
Today set out to Lake Manyara National Park. This small parks offers a microcosm of the safari experience to be found in Tanzania. The diverse landscape includes lush ground water forest hosting baboons, monkeys and canopy dwelling birdlife. Grassy floodplains play home to larger mammals like buffalo, wildebeest, zebra and giraffe. Inland one might find the famous tree climbing lions and herds of elephant.
The safari adventure continues to Ngorongoro Crater. We descend 2,000 feet to the floor of the crater, where volcanic slopes shelter the highest concentration of wildlife on the planet. 25,000 or so animals, including the rare rhino, mingle together. You are never out of sight of wildlife.
Enjoy the picnic lunch on the crater’s verdant floor. In the afternoon continue with the exploration of the crater.
Depart on your scheduled flight to Zanzibar Airport and transfer to your lodge on the beach.
The following two days are yours to spend as you please. Choose from a list of the lodge activities such as snorkeling, diving around Mnemba atoll or pass the time under the shade of your beach umbrella.
Dar es Salaam
After breakfast, drive to Stone Town to explore the UNESCO world heritage site before leaving the island to Dar es Salaam, where you connect with your home-bound departure.
